Star Wars Fandom

I’ve been a Star Wars nut since I was a kid, and I’m older than most people think. My first paid writing gigs were for Star Wars games and magazines, long before I ever tried writing a novel. I was called “the Star Wars girl” because people couldn’t remember my name.sb_dolby_worldwide_handout_13x19_v3_lg_use_this_one_cc3cc869

I’ve lost count of how many Star Wars conventions I’ve been to, how many games I’ve run, how many fans I’ve met. These weirdos whining about “SJWs” in The Last Jedi and throwing tantrums over Lando not being straight are not representative of Star Wars fans. I’ve never met a fan who wasn’t kind, accommodating, compassionate and tolerant. They’re some of the best people I know, people who welcomed a kid at her first convention and made her feel safe. My oldest friends are part of the fandom.

I’m not sure where these weirdos came from, but they do not speak for the majority of fans, we welcome everyone. Don’t let them scare you, they’re nothing but loudmouth bullies who have no real place in this fandom.
